I’ll spare you the pics, but I was stung on the finger by a wasp yesterday and my hand literally blew up. Nine hours later, as the swelling crept toward my elbow, I went to urgent care. Thank God for steroid shots — it’s looking much better today.
It’s been a rough year with loss and endings. Earlier this summer I ended up in the ER in Boston at 11:30 p.m. after my flight was canceled, knowing I’d miss a doctor’s visit the next day.
The silver lining? Reconnecting with a former coworker and fellow teacher — who just happened to be on the same flight and rescheduled one. Brought back so many memories of my time at Austin Discovery School.
So even in the chaos, there have been small, sacred moments.
This week, I watched a caterpillar become a butterfly moth — right before my eyes. I made a short film about it, and it felt like a sign. A quiet, beautiful reminder that change is happening… even when it feels messy.
Through it all, I’ve been doing deep shadow work, healing, and reconnecting with my essence. I’m editing my third poetry collection (coming August 9th)) and just started writing a new healing-focused book — not a poetry book, but a more intimate look at the journey.
It’s been that kind of summer — one of undoing, becoming, and beginning again.
Just checking in, keeping it real. 💜
