What are 5 everyday things that bring you happiness?

I had a conversation with a girl today. It went something like this.

You can choose to focus on what you don’t have or make the most of this moment.  She chose to be sad, which is ok too! But as we were leaving, she was upset she missed out on the fun.

There is no right or wrong when it comes to our feelings. Acknowledging and processing our feelings are super important. Respecting and accepting how we feel allows us to heal and grow in our self love.

There does come a time, however, when we can make a conscious choice of what comes next. We sometimes choose to feel bad because it is familiar to us, it’s what we know.

Or we can choose to be happy or engage in experiences which bring us joy.

These are five everyday experiences that bring me happiness:

• My morning jog

,• My morning connects with my animals

• My work with students

• Writing

• Chilling on my back porch

For so long I wondered if anything brought me joy. I noticed so many people doing these grand experiences. And over time, I realized it can be just the simplest thing. I’ve learned there are many things which bring me joy such as:

• Photo walks

• Walking my dog

• Coffee chats with my husband or close friend

• Watching the Red Sox

• Summertime fun

• The sunset, sunrise, clouds, stars…the list is endless.

What about you?
